Rooting Warning: This is an official Android 4.0.4 ICS update for Galaxy S Duos S7562, which means you will lose root as soon as you install this update. You will again have to root Galaxy S Duos to gain full system access and be able to install root apps again.

Step-By-Step Instructions:

 Step 1 - Download XXBMD2 Android 4.0.4 ICS for Galaxy S Duos to your computer and extract the zip file.

Step 2 - Download ODIN v1.85 which will help you to install Android 4.0.4 on Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562.

Step 3 - Switch OFF your phone. Now go to Download Mode. How? Press and hold the Volume Down + Power buttons together, till you see the Samsung logo or the construction Android robot and a triangle. This is the Download Mode.

Step 4 - Make sure you have your Galaxy S Duos USB drivers installed on your computer.

Step 5 - Open ODIN on your computer. Connect Galaxy S Duos to your computer while the phone is in the Download Mode.

Step 6 - If your phone is connected successfully, one of the ID:COM boxes will turn yellow with the COM port number. This step might take some time.

Click on ‘CSC’ and select file with CSC’ in its name. Ignore this step if there is no such file.
Click on ‘PIT’ and select the .pit file. Ignore this step if there is no such file.
Step 8 - In ODIN, check the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options. As for the Re-Partition option, check it ONLY if you selected a .PIT file in the above step.

Step 9 - Now click on the Start button in ODIN. Installation process will start and would take a few minutes to complete.

Step 10 - After the installation is completed, your phone will restart. After you see the home screen, unplug your phone from the computer.

That’s it. Your Samsung Galaxy S Duos has now been updated to XXBMD2 Android 4.0.4 ICS Official Firmware. Go to Settings > About phone to verify.

I wrote series of article on Galaxy Grand which include custom ROM, Stock ROM. This time I am going to post on how to install clockwork recovery mode using odin for pc. If you are newbies then you should first readout what CWM recovery actually is! Smart user always knows thing. Grand is a new flagship device from Samsung in dual SIM range. It has 1.2 Ghz Cortex A9 processor. It comes with multitasking windows and has 8 MP rear camera. Features are price worthy. If you recently bought this phone and looking for its root and CWM, here is full guide on how to install:
One benefit of installing recovery app is that you can install custom ROM and can prepare backup. Though installation is not tough but you must consider following things before done:

1. Create a full back of contacts, WhatsApp messages, Inbox Messages, call longs and any other important data.
2. Since you are going to connect device with pc so Samsung mobile driver must be install. Connect phone to computer. Wait for a minute. All drivers will be automatically install. If installation fails, download drivers here.
3. Make sure that battery is atleast 70 % charged.
4. This tutorial is only for Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos i9082.Don’t perform on other variants or model.

How to Install CWM on Grand i9082

Step 1: Extract both files downloaded above. Put on desktop. Now go to Odin3 extracted folder. Find .exe setup. Double click on setup and run it.

Step 2: Click on PDA and select CWM-touch_i9082 zip file. Put a check mark on Auto Reboot and F.Reset time.

Step 3: Switch off mobile and start again in downloading mode. Press and hold Home key+ Power ON key+ Volume Down key together. You will be entering into download mode.

Step 4: Connect your device with computer. You will see that there are multiple boxes in odin. One ID:COM  box will turn into blue when you connect mobile. It will show respective port number.

Step 5: Click Start button. Wait for completion of process. Your phone will automatically reboot once operation is successful.

I am going to list every prerequisites so read every note carefully. Make sure that everything is going before going into next step.
1. Double check your mobile. Make sure that is Generic Micromax Canvas A116 HD. You should leave if you don’t have this model.
2. Download and install all necessary drivers. Download Micromax driver from here.
3. Download Bin4ry’s Root Tool on your computer.
4. Backup your device. You can use ROM Manager App. You can backup important data separately. Like if you want to save contacts, sync it with Gmail account.
5. Enable USB Debugging option from setting menu under developer sub setting option.

Steps to Root Micromax Canvas HD A116:

Step 1: First task is extracting the downloaded Bin4ry’s tool because it comes in zip archive.
Step 2: Connect your mobile with computer. Driver will start to install automatically.
Step 3: Go to folder where we have extracted root tool. The folder name should be “Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18” .Open that folder. Find a file “Runme.bat” .Now run this script by double click.
Step 4: A command box window will open on your pc.  Now type 1 .Mobile will enter in normal mode.
Step 5 : If you already rooted MMX Canvas and want to unroot, put “x” instead of “1” as we done in step 4.
